Check out envelopes. You can envelop both the light intensity and lens
flares. Envelopes allow you to vary these values by keyframes. For instance,
I use them to simulate a laser cannon shooting a charge. Many other
possible uses exist.
There is an "E" button next to each of these edit fields. Click on
it.

We've been told that there will be a plug-in, included free-of-charge, from
Syndesis (sp?) that will allow LW to read/write many different formats --
including DXF. I saw somebody post an article about receiving the Alpha
full release and it included this format plug-in and the glow effect
in the standard package.
